Let a smile speak for itself

There’s always a reason to smile. Smiling makes us attractive, relieves stress, boosts our immune system, lowers blood pressure, releases endorphins, and even makes us appear younger. So, having the confidence to smile is all-important. Unfortunately, we aren’t all blessed with a dazzling Hollywood smile. So, for people like us, dentists have come up with a fresh solution to make us
sparkle. They call them dental veneers.

First used by the Hollywood greats themselves to complete dental jobs, dental veneers are now widely available by dentists in Essex. Whatever concerns you have over your smile, whether your teeth are stained, damaged, crooked, or even if you have gaps, veneers are likely to solve most of your misgivings. Veneers are basically thin shells of porcelain or a dental composite that are stuck to the front of your tooth like a glossy shield to rejuvenate the look and feel of your smile. With today’s specifically synthesized resins, these shields can leave you armed (quite literally, to the teeth!) with a radiant smile for up to thirty years, leaving you as the envy of those around you as you say ‘Cheese!’ for the camera. There isn’t even any need for tooth extraction when getting veneers!

The different shells also represent different options. If you’re looking for a cheap solution to a small chipped tooth, the dental composite is perhaps your best option. For something more permanent, durable and natural-looking, the porcelain shells are recommended – but expect a significant cost
increase; they can cost around £1,000. A veneers should be treated with typcail oral hygiene techniques including toothpaste and mouthwash.

What Are The Side-Effects of Placing UK Dental Implants Into Patients’ Mouths?

Dental patients who’d like to use UK dental implants should know something about the possible side-effects of placing the implants into their mouths. Here are some of the most common side-effects that patients experience when they go through the procedure.

Some patients experience swelling around the area where the dental implants were placed.
This swelling is natural and usually goes away on its own in a few days. If the swelling does not stop, it’s a good idea to ask your orthodontist for help.

Other patients might experience discomfort or mild pain around the area of the implants.
This discomfort and mild pain is also natural and should also go away after a few days. If it does not stop, an over-the-counter pain medication such as Ibuprofen can help the pain and discomfort go away.

In a few rare cases, patients can also get an infection at the site where the UK dental implants were placed.
This might happen when the area round the implant site gets infected with bacteria. This happens when the area round the implant site is inadequately cleaned beforehand. As a result, look for an orthodontist who goes the extra mile to keep any open wound clean. This will ensure that the chances of an infection happening during the procedure will be quite small.

Types of Liposuction Procedures

In cosmetic surgery there are different types of liposuction procedures that can be done. Part of the procedure of liposuction is to have a wetting solution injected into the area being treated. Depending on how much is used is what determines the type of liposuction being performed.

With each procedure once the wetting solution has been injected by the plastic surgeon, a cannula (which is a narrow metal tube) is inserted and suctions out the excess fat.

These are the main types of liposuction procedures:

• Wet Liposuction – This type of procedure is when the amount of wetting solution used is less than the volume of fat being removed. With this procedure it usually requires intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
• Super-Wet Liposuction – This type of procedure is when the amount of wetting solution is equal to the volume of fat being removed. With this procedure it usually requires intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
• Tumescent Liposuction – This type of procedure is when the amount of wetting solution is two to three times the volume of fat being removed. It is the most commonly used type of liposuction procedure. With this procedure it usually only requires local anesthesia. The benefits to this type of liposuction are that there is less bleeding which results in less bruising.
• Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction – This type of procedure uses the same technique as with standard liposuctions however, the cannual is connected to an ultrasound machine. The machine uses energy from sound waves to break apart the fat cells. Not only is the fluid from the wetting solution removed but so is the “melted” fat.

Liposuction can take anywhere from one hour to five hours. The ultrasound-assisted liposuction generally takes longer than the other types of procedures. With all procedures just a few stitches are needed to close up incisions.
